My New Cousin, Lorcan

“Hi, my name is Lily. Hurrah for my good news – I just got a new cousin, called Lorcan!”

“Hmmm, now where did they put my new cousin? In Granny Kay’s box?”

“Golly-gosh, this is a deep box. Just as well I’m going to be a ballet dancer. Hel-loo-hoo, Lorcan?”

“No, there’s no sign in there of …”

“Erm, Sillyput? What’s the big idea?”

“Gosh, I’m bored with this game already. What’s a ‘cousin’, anyway? Can you chew on it? Hey, maybe it’s out in the hallway. Oh no, there’s that blummin’ Sillyput again. Boopy-doop!”

My Friend Jack

“Hi, my name is Lily. My friend Jack lives in a box, which is very sad. I’d hate to live in a box. Especially if I was a moose, and the box had pictures of monkeys and buttons on it. I mean, monkeys?”

“Every chance I get, I like to give Jack a big hug just to cheer him up. Some day, when I’m big and strong, I’m going to help Jack escape from his monkey-button box. I might even hi-Jack him. Heh-heh-heh. Sorry, I’m such a boopster.”

“Speaking of boopsters, Lovely Mum and me had a lovely game of Standy-Uppy this – whoa! Lovely Mum! Easy on the old vertical control, there.”

“That’s better. I like playing Standy-Uppy. Oh, and here’s a secret – I got another tooth on Thursday night. That’s four now! Golly-gosh, four teeth – I hope the tooth fairy doesn’t have his account with the Anglo-Irish Bank. Boopy-doop!”

There’s No Business Like Snow Business

“Hi, my name is Lily. Last week, Lovely Mum said, ‘Quick, let’s run outside, Daddy’s shaking his dandruff in the garden.’ Gosh, she really is a boopster.”

“Anyhoos, Ol’ Sillyput decided to build a – Oi, Sillyput! Get off me, I’m trying to talk to everyone on my interweb. And have a blummin’ shave, you look like something out of a cave.”

“That’s better. Like I was saying, Ol’ Sillyput decided to build a Snow-Lily in the front garden. Golly-gosh, and I thought Lovely Mum was a boopster? THAT LITTLE SNOW-GIRL DOESN’T EVEN HAVE ANY COAT ON, SILLYPUT! How’s the girl going to keep warm? Sheesh.”

“Later on, when I was tuckled up in bed, Lovely Mum took this photograph of the back garden. ‘Isn’t it lovely?’ she says. Erm, Lovely Mum? IT CAN’T BE LOVELY IF I’M NOT IN IT! That’s the law in the Land of Lilyput, see. Let’s not make that mistake again – I’d hate to have to deport you. Boopy-doop.”

Multi-tasking at Playtime

“Hi, my name is Lily. Golly-gosh, but it’s true what they say about ladies and multi-tasking, especially when it comes to playtime. Here’s a video of me playing Jack-in-the-Box, hanging out with Super-Fred and Ernie, taking a dip into my library, not turning on the TV, and having a good chew on the table. Oi, Lovely Mum - that coffee table tastes nothing like coffee! Boopy-doop, and roll it there Collette ...”

Sleepy Time

“Hi, my name is Lily. Sleepy Time is a very special time in my palace, and it’s important to do everything right. First you have to have a little romp with Lovely Mum in your Toronto Maple Leafs Basekey Ice-ball romper suit. Hurray for the Toronto Maple Leafs! Hurray for Lovely Mums!”

“Then it’s time for a quick hug with Dolly Kay and Sleepy Bear. Golly-gosh, I love my Dolly Kay.”

“After that, it’s pretty much a free-for-all for anyone who wants hugs. L-R: (back row) Ol’ Sillyput; (front row) Boople the Dog, Punky Monkey, Sleepy Bear and me – Lilyput! I think Dolly Kay is in there too somewhere. Oh, and there’s nothing like a nice boppy just before bed. Mmmmm, boppies ...”

“And so to bed. Altogether now: ‘Rocking, rolling, riding, out along the bay, all bound for Morningtown, many miles away …’ Mmmmm, boopy-zzzzzz-doop.”
