My Weekend in Sligo

“Hi, my name is Lily. Golly-gosh, it’s always such a busy time when I go to Sligo for a weekend. First I have to have my usual chat with Granda Harry … I say things like, ‘Hello, Granda Harry. How are you? You’re looking very well. Did you get your hair cut recently?’ And he says, ‘Grrrrrrrrr, I’m going to get Lily!’ Gosh, granddads are silly, sometimes.”

“Anyhoos, then I had to take a walk around the west wing’s grounds with Lovely Mum. Which is always nice, except mum’s posture is very bad. Watch me, Lovely Mum – keep your back straight, tummy out, and your hands high in the air. Wheeeee! It’s easy when you know how.”

“After a while I took a stroll over to the east wing with my push-along, to see my lovely cousins, Anna Banana and Katie. Gosh, they have lovely clothes and headbands. Oi, Lovely Mum? The girls are telling me I’m going have to do something with my fringe soon. Can I have a fringe like Anna Banana? Boopy-doop!”

My Momma Went To Rome

“Hi, my name is Lily. Last weekend, Momma Boopster went to Rome, and left me all alone with Ol’ Sillyput. Momma! Come home soon!!!”

“Anyhoos, Sillyput took me for a walk to see the horsies. Erm, Sillyput? I’m not seeing any horsies …”

“Oh, okay, there’s deer over there. That’s nice … But they’re not really horsies now, are they?”

“Let’s be honest, Sillyput, this isn’t really working out. Shall we just go home and wait for Momma Boopster to come back? Eh?”

“Hurrah for Momma Boopster! Golly-gosh, I love hugs and cuddles with Lovely Mum.”

“Wheeeee! It’s upside-down sideways Lilyput! Momma Boopster? Promise you’ll never go away and leave me with Sillyput again? Thanks. Boopy-doop.”

My Lovely Walk at the Waterfall

“Hi, my name is Lily. Sillyput took me out for a walk in my Princess Stroller the other day, to see the beautiful waterfall.”

“Erm, hello? What’s the big blummin’ deal, Sillyput? Like, water falls. Haven’t you ever heard of rain? What a Boopster … Zzzzzzz.”

“Ah, that’s better. I don’t mind waterfalls when I’m the focus of attention. Hiya, Sillyput! Where are we going next?”

“Hurrah! I love the swings. Push, Sillyput, push!”

“Golly-gosh, that was a lovely walk. Thanks very much, Sillypu – Oi! Try a smile, Dad, it won’t crack your face. Sheesh.”

“Kiss-kiss, Da-Da? Ah, that’s better. That always makes him smile. Really, it’s too easy sometimes. Boopy-doop!”

My Birthday Party

“Hi, my name is Lily. Last week I had a birthday party, and Lovely Mum baked me a cake. Thanks, Lovely Mum! Mind you, the last time I tried to eat a cat’s tail things got a little awkward. We’ll see how it goes …”

“Anyhoos, here’s me and Lovely Mum before the ravening hordes arrive. Crikey, Mum – you could’ve made a bit of an effort with your hair. Look at mine, a nice lilac slide, a wee vertical flick for dramatic effect … It’s easy when you know how.”

“Blummy! Birthday parties are tough going. I’m all pooped out. In a good way, like. Lovely Mum told me to guard the wine-rack with my life. ‘You know what Sillyput is like when he gets a sniff of a cork,’ she said. But I refuse to believe he could get any sillier than he usually is. It’s just not possible.”

“Hurrah, here’s the cake! That’s Lovely Auntie Jane on the couch, she’s lovely. Uncle Gav is sitting beside her, but Sillyput took him out of the picture because he didn’t want to scare the horses. Ha! There weren’t even any horses at my party! Golly-gosh, Sillyput really is a Boopster. Happy Birthday to me, everyone! Boopy-doop!”
